Deputy hits horses on WB 50 in Dayton

DAYTON, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a Lyon County Sheriff's deputy in a patrol cruiser.

The deputy hit three horses on US 50 in Dayton at the intersection with Enterprise. The deputy was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries said by LCSO to be "bumps and bruises". He has been released. The horses were killed.

NHP says the deputy was not at fault; he was in the "wrong place at the wrong time."

The crash happened shortly before 6PM January 16, 2018.
