DMV Reaches Saturday Capacity for Driver Privilege Cards

RENO, NV -- Officials at the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles say they reached capacity of people who can apply for drivers' privilege cards for Saturday.

"About 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, we reached capacity," DMV spokesman David Fierro tells KOLO 8 News Now. "We're at the point of telling people who are already here whether or not they can make it today."

Bottom line: people who were still planning to go to the DMV for privilege cards Saturday were not serviced after 1PM.

Fierro says to come back early Monday morning once the DMV reopens.

On a side note, Fierro says he's seeing a high failure rate among applicants and the written test.

"We're seeing a pretty high failure rate state-wide," said Fierro. " It's about 75%."
