INCLINE VILLAGE, NV – A magnitude 3.7 earthquake, followed by 9 smaller earthquakes, struck north of Incline Village Tuesday night.
Incline residents who felt it described it as a single quick jolt. Some initially thought it was snow from a recent heavy snowstorm falling off of their roofs.
Not everyone felt the temblor. Resident Nancy Guenther was at a party and hugging a friend at the time. Everyone else felt it, but she was too in the moment.
The first quake hit about 9pm Tuesday. It was 4 miles below the surface, about 5 miles NNW of Incline Village. The following earthquakes ranged in magnitude from 0.9 to 2.3, with the last one registering at 10:23pm.
There have been no reports of injuries of damages from the quake.
