UPDATE: Brush Fire in Herlong Contained at 325 Acres

HERLONG, CA - Several fire agencies worked through Friday night to contain a brush fire in Herlong, northwest of Reno.

The fire was first reported around 6:30pm Friday near the Herlong dump. It burned about 325 acres before being fully contained Saturday morning. Firefighters hope to have it controlled by Monday night.

It burned mostly sagebrush, about half a mile from scattered homes. Buildings were in danger early on, but kept out of harm's way.

No word yet what started the fire, or whether Friday's summer storm played any role.
