Washoe County increasing preparations amid coronavirus concerns

There are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nevada.

Expect a warm afternoon with a high of 70 possible in Reno. Clouds and winds will increase, becoming gusty on Saturday. Areas of blowing dust and bumpy travel are possible at times. A sharp cold front will bring snow showers and much colder air Saturday night into Sunday. Several inches of Sierra snow and snow down to valley floors are possible with this system. Dry weather with a slow warming trend can be expected early next week.

In the last few months, the sheriff's office raised more than $29,000 for local nonprofits.

The weeklong global market rout is being driven by fears that the spreading coronavirus will derail the global economy.
