BARCELONA, SPAIN – The Nevada women’s basketball team concluded its three-game international tour with a 75-66 loss to the Barcelona All-Stars Saturday in Barcelona.
The Wolf Pack went 1-2 on its first ever foreign tour, defeating the Valencia All-Stars on Thursday. The Pack’s two losses this week were each by single digit margins.
In Saturday’s contest against the Barcelona All-Stars, Nevada hung with its opponent for much of the game and only trailed at the half by one point, 39-38. The Barcelona All-Stars didn’t start to pull away until midway through the fourth quarter. Even then the Pack kept fighting and turned a 12-point deficit into a two-possession game with four minutes left. In the end though the Barcelona All-Stars hit key shots down the stretch to keep the Pack behind.
Freshman Dom Phillips impressed in the third game of the week, leading the team with 15 points. Sophomores Imani Lacy and Essence Booker also scored in double figures with Lacy totaling 12 points and Booker reaching 11. Newcomer LaPraisjah Johnson posted another solid outing with seven points and seven rebounds.
