Wolf Pack hoops moves up in latest polls

RENO, Nev. – The 28-3 University of Nevada men’s basketball team moved up three spots in the Associated Press poll to 14th and is up one spot to 17th in the USA Today Coaches polls released today. The Wolf Pack has appeared in the last 24 polls dating back to last season and in the top 20 ever week this season. Nevada was 17th in AP poll last week and 18th in the USA Today Coaches poll.

The Pack’s highest ranking of the season was fifth on Nov. 26 in the AP poll and fifth on Dec. 31 in the USA Today Coaches poll. Both are the highest rankings in school history.

Nevada captured its third consecutive Mountain West regular season championships on Saturday defeating San Diego State 81-53. The Wolf Pack is the top seed in the MW Tournament and will play the winner of the Boise State and Colorado State game on Thursday at 12 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
