RENO, NV - For the third time, the Nevada softball team will compete in the Postseason NISC and for the first time they will be hosting. The Wolf Pack will be taking on Loyola Marymount in the first round with a start time of 4:00 p.m.
Joining Nevada for the second year in a row is UC Riverside and competing in its first NISC tournament, Fresno State. The Pack has faced the Bulldogs earlier this season and while UC Riverside was scheduled the game was rained out and not made up in the non-conference season. Rounding out the group of four is the 2018 NISC Champions, LMU.
In last seasons postseason run, Nevada advanced all the way to the semifinals before falling to UNLV. The year prior, Nevada made it to the championship round of regionals before dropping the contest to Cal Poly. The Wolf Pack is one of two teams in this years NISC to have competed in all three years of the tournament.
Fans can follow the Pack and its postseason run with live stats and an online stream through Mountain West Network while updates will be posted on Twitter (@Nevada_Softball).
The NISC Regional is a four-team double-elimination tournament. The winner of the regional advances to next week’s finals in Fort Collins, Colo.
There are four teams participating and they were seeded according to RPI, and the higher RPI side will be the home team in each game. They are:
