RENO, Nev. (KOLO) UPDATE: Eric Musselman has contacted KOLO-8, telling us via text he's "in (the) office working on recruits now," when responding to a report he'll stay at Nevada.
The Reno-Gazette Journal seemingly squashed rampant speculation Musselman was in line to be the next head coach at Arkansas, citing quotes from his wife Danyelle Musselman. She told the RGJ, "He's here in Reno with no plans to go anywhere."
Asked Muss via text to confirm the RGJ report/his wife's comments - or to add anything: "I'm in (the) office working on recruits now."— Mike Stefansson (@MikeStefansson) April 3, 2019
This is all in response to swirling rumors starting Monday night which pegged the Wolf Pack's head coach as the Razorbacks' top target. Things got out of hand on Twitter, where after legitimate national reports said Muss was a candidate, less-legitimate reports had him in Fayetville today with a contract already agreed to.
Soon after, former Wolf Pack star Caleb Martin Tweeted a video of him working out with Musselman at Reno High School.
Evidently, Musselman has not been named the next head basketball coach at Arkansas. It seems for now, Eric Musselman will remain at Nevada. He's 110-34 in four seasons leading the Wolf Pack.
