RENO, Nev. – Nevada defensive end Dom Peterson has been named to the Ted Hendricks Final Watch List for the 2019 season. The Ted Hendricks Award honors the top defensive end in college football.
The award is named in honor of college football’s first three-time first-team All-American. The award is given to the player who best exemplifies leadership abilities, on-field performance, and contributions to their community. Members of the national media, head coaches, professional scouts and former winners of the award are included on the selection committee.
So far this season, Peterson has been one of the Pack’s top defensive players as he leads the team with 12.5 tackles-for-loss and seven sacks. He has also registered 34 total tackles, with 21 of them being solo.
Peterson’s seven sacks currently rank second in the Mountain West and 30th nationally. He has recorded a tackle-for-loss in all but one game this season, and ranks 30th nationally registering 1.25 per game.
Nevada will wrap up its regular season this Saturday against rival UNLV in Mackay Stadium in a battle for the Fremont Cannon.
