FRESNO, Calif. - After a tied ballgame through seven innings, the Nevada softball team came out on top with four runs in the eighth to take the final game of the series from Fresno State, 5-1. The Pack is now 22-16, 7-5.

Kendall Fritz tossed a complete game, one-run game with four strikeouts to get the win. The freshman is now 9-6 on the year and threw her tenth complete game of the season. She now has 104 K's on the year and is second in the Mountain West.

Ashley Salausa had the hot bat in the game, going 2-for-2 with a solo home run and a single in the top of the fourth. The sophomore also scored two runs and was intentionally walked twice in later innings of the game. Sadaria McAlister, Dallas Millwood and Haley Burda all recorded single hits with both McAlister and Millwood hitting for extra bases.

Both teams put a single run up in the second inning to keep it tied 1-1 after Salausa hit a solo home run to take the 1-0 lead. Neither team scored for the remainder of regulation and the game was sent into extra innings.

In the top of the eighth, McAlister led off with a double before Millwood hit an RBI double to score McAlister from second to take back the lead, 2-1. The Bulldogs intentionally walked Salausa to put two on with one out. Kwynn Warner then drew a walk to load the bases with one out. Burda hit a single to score Jessica Sellers, who had come in to run for Millwood at second. Following Burda, Lauren Gutierrez was hit by a pitch to score Salausa, 4-1 Nevada. The inning continued after a wild pitch scored Warner, 5-1, but it ended after a groundout.

Fritz and the defense held on in the bottom of the eighth to keep the Bulldogs from getting into scoring position and ended the game with a 5-1 extra inning win.

Next up for the Pack is a three-game home series against Colorado State beginning on Thursday, April 18 and concluding on Saturday, April 20th.
