CARSON CITY, NV (KOLO) - Governor Steve Sisolak and First Lady Kathy Sisolak have sent an official invitation to the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team to visit Nevada to celebrate its World Cup Victory.

“On behalf of the State of Nevada, I would like to congratulate the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team on winning the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Throughout the entire tournament, the team displayed a level of skill, courage and passion that rallied our entire nation. You made us all incredibly proud.” Gov. Sisolak says.

“As Governor of the State of Nevada, I would like to extend an invitation from First Lady Kathy Sisolak and myself for you to come to Nevada to celebrate your victory. Our state offers the most beautiful locations to celebrate in, including the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City, or even in Las Vegas, which has a global reputation for hosting the best victory celebrations. It would be an honor to recognize the success you achieved for our country, and to highlight female representation and empowerment.”

In the invitation letter (attached to this story), Governor Sisolak lays out three of the top reasons "Nevada is the ideal state for the USWNT to celebrate their victory."
