RENO, Nev. – Nevada head men’s golf coach Jacob Wilner has announced the addition of Connor Motherway, who will join the program next fall.

“We are excited to add Connor to our roster next year,” said Wilner. “Having local players on our team is a big deal. Connor does a great job representing Northern Nevada and now we look forward to him doing the same for the Wolf Pack.”

Motherway is a local product from Reno who will graduate from Galena High School this spring. He brings a slew of accolades with him, including two Northern Nevada High School Player of the Year honors. Additionally, Motherway has two Northern Nevada Regional Championships under his belt and received three all-state honors. He has competed in events such as the Junior America’s Cup, Hogan Cup and was a Junior World participant.

On the junior golf circuit, Motherway captured the individual title at the Junior Tour of Northern California Fall Series I back in August. In 15 junior golf events in the past 12 months, he has earned nine top 15 finishes, which include six top five showings. During that stretch Motherway played 35 rounds of golf and compiled a stroke average of 74.14.

Motherway joins Young Harris College transfer Cam Kellett in next fall’s incoming class.
