LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) - Peyton Dixon became the first player in the history of Nevada high school football to rush for more than 3,000 yards in a season. But despite his efforts Bishop Manogue lost to Bishop Gorman 69-26 in the 4A State Championship.
The Miners never led in the game but did manage to keep things close through the first quarter and a half.
Dontell Jackson hauled in a touchdown to knot the game up at 7, but the Bishop Manogue defense did not have an answer for the Gaels offense.
Bishop Gorman running back Amod Cianelli had a six touchdown performance.
The Gaels won a state championship for the tenth straight year.
