RENO, NV (KOLO) – University of Nevada senior forward Jordan Caroline has signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers. Caroline played three seasons at Nevada and ended his career fifth in school history with 1,742 points and 958 rebounds.
Caroline holds the Mountain West record with 958 rebounds and 45 doubles which also ranks fourth in Nevada history. Twice he was a first-team All-MW selection, second-team selection once and was named to the MW defensive team his senior year. Twice he was selected to the NABC District 17 first team and USBWA District VIII team. In 2017 he was named the MVP of the MW Tournament after leading the Pack to the title which earned Nevada its first trip the NCAA Tournament in a decade. Four times he was named the MW Player of the Week as a senior and seven times in his career.
As a senior he was named the Oscar Robertson Trophy midseason and watch list, the Wooden Award midseason and late season top 20 watch list. His sophomore season he was the NBC Sports’ Player of the Week after scoring 45 points in the Pack’s comeback win at New Mexico.
Nevada advanced to the NCAA Tournament each season he played for the Wolf Pack and reached the Sweet 16 in 2018. The Wolf Pack won 86 games in his three seasons and 29 each of the last two years that tied the school record. The 58 wins in his last two season is the best two year span in school history.
In three seasons he played in 105 games and made 103 starts. He averaged 16.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in his career. In his first season at Nevada he scored 15 points and grabbed 9.2 rebounds per contest. His junior year he averaged 17.7 points and 8.6 rebounds. In his final season he scored 17 points and grabbed 9.6 rebounds per game.
Including his time at Southern Illinois he scored 2,045 points and had 1,164 rebounds in 138 college games.
