RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada freshman forward Jordan Brown has been named to the 2019 Karl Malone Award watch list. The award recognizes the top power forward in Division I men’s college basketball. He is one of 20 players on the watch list and the only player from the Mountain West.
Brown is Nevada’s first five star recruit and second McDonald’s All-American. He scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the McDonald’s All-Star game. As a prep senior he averaged 23.5 points and 13.1 rebounds at Prolific Prep last season.
Brown is the third Wolf Pack player to be named to a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame watch list this week. Cody Martin was named to the Bob Cousy Award watch list and Caleb Martin to the Julius Erving Award watch list. The Cousy Award recognizes the top point guard and Erving Award honors the top small forward.
