Bonnenfant signs with Kansas City Royals
Following his senior campaign in the Silver & Blue, former Nevada reliever Bradley Bonnenfant signed with the Kansas City Royals today. The right-handed pitcher spent two years with the Wolf Pack, making 34 appearances and tossing 46.1 innings with a career 3.50 ERA.
Bonnenfant experienced his best collegiate season in 2019 setting career-highs with innings pitched (36.2), appearances (24), wins (6), saves (3) and strikeouts (45). Pitching a lot of late innings for the Wolf Pack, the Yuba City, Calif. native held opposing batters to a .245 average and led Nevada with six wins.
The best game of Bonnenfant’s career came on a Monday night against defending national champion and No. 2 ranked Oregon State. With the game tied at seven entering the seventh frame, Bonnenfant tossed four innings while only allowing two hits and striking out a career-high eight batters including No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft Adley Rutschman.
Bonnenfant is the third member for the 2019 Nevada baseball team to join a professional organization, after Grant Ford and Ryan Anderson were selected on day two of the 2019 MLB Draft.
