Reno, Nev. – Junior left-handed pitcher Ryan Anderson threw a career-high seven hitless innings in Nevada’s 1-0 victory at Long Beach State on Friday on his way to winning Mountain West Pitcher of the Week. This is the first conference award for Anderson in his career.
The Sparks, Nev. native put together one of the best pitching performances in Nevada history, as he threw a career-high 11 strikeouts which was the third-most in a game by a Nevada pitcher since at least 2000. His seven hitless innings helped Nevada take a combined no-hitter into the ninth inning.
Anderson is now 2-0 on the season after earning the start in both of Nevada’s Friday matchups. He defeated No. 24 Missouri State in the Wolf Pack’s season opener and has helped lead the Pack to its best start since 2015 with a 6-1 record.
Nevada will play its home-opening series this Thursday through Saturday against Washington State at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park. Single-game tickets for this weekend will be available here, with season-ticket holders able to attend all three games for free. Season-ticket holders must go to the ticketing office at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park on gameday to be allowed free entry.
A live stream of the games on the Mountain West Network will be available as well as a radio broadcast on 94.1 FM/1450 AM on Thursday and Friday. There will be no live stream for Saturday’s contest, but an internet-only radio broadcast will be available.
