AAA champs down Aces 10-4 in series opener

RENO, NV – Game one of the four-game set against the Memphis Redbirds could have gone better for the Biggest Little baseball team. Memphis defeated Reno by a score of 10-4 thanks to 18 total hits and a five-run eighth inning. The loss drops the Aces to an overall record of 26-34 on the year and improves the Redbirds to 26-36. Juniel Querecuto led the way offensively for Reno, finishing 4-for-5 with a double. Edmundo Sosa finished a single shy of the cycle (3-for-6) and all but two Memphis starters recorded a hit. Right-hander Taylor Widener will face off tomorrow night against the St. Louis Cardinals top prospect Alex Reyes. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. and gates are scheduled to open at 5:35 p.m.
