Witness: Driver hit pedestrian in Sparks, then drove away

SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO)-- A pedestrian was hit by a driver while crossing Prater Way just of McCarran Boulevard Friday night and the driver allegedly stopped and then drove away, according to a witness.

The Sparks Police Department said the 52-year-old pedestrian was taken to a hospital with minor injuries following the crash at 9:10 p.m. January 11, 2019.

A witness who saw the vehicle being driven away said the man was conscious and was able to move after the accident.

Sparks police said they are treating it as a hit-and-run. The vehicle was a red car, possibly a Nissan, and it was last seen going east on East Prater Way. It will be missing a passenger-side mirror.
