Wind blamed for airplane incident at Stead Airport

STEAD, Nev. (KOLO) - An airplane that was on display during the Reno Air Races was damaged today when the pilot was attempting to take off.

A statement by the Stihl National Championship Air Races described the crash as a "wind-related incident during take-off."

While the plane suffered extensive damage, the pilot and two passengers were not injured.

This was not one of the race contestants.
