Lemmon Drive had been closed since mid-February, when it and other roads were closed because of heavy rain and flooding.

County crews say they have completed work "with additional protections" to get the road back open.

ORIGINAL STORY: Because of rain and snowmelt causing water over roads and overwhelming of some drainage infrastructure, Washoe County has closed the following roads so crews can address issues:

South area:
Toll Road at Bailey Creek Crossing

North area:
Lemmon Drive closed from Deodar to Chickadee. Use Military Road as a detour.
Nectar Street at Lemmon Drive
Waterash St. and Oregon Blvd. are closed. Roads will re-open as soon as roadways are safe for the traveling public.
Palace Dr. is being monitored.
Pompe Way is experiencing some water on the roadways and on some property fronts, however there is no water in any homes.
Additional pumps have been placed in the area to continue to pump water into the lake.

Please be aware of other active road work areas, but no road closures:
• Dolores Drive in Spanish Springs
• Knob Hill in Golden Valley
• Red Rock Road

The county says roads will be reopened as soon as roads are safe to travel, and asks that drivers be aware of roads crews when passing active work areas.
