Two people killed in a double fatal crash on Interstate 80 in west Reno on Friday night have been identified as Jose F. Villasante, 27, and Sylvana Rey, 23, both of Reno.

Meanwhile, the alleged driver of the Ford F-350 pickup that slammed into the disabled car on the side of Interstate 80 near McCarran Boulevard has his initial appearance scheduled Thursday morning in Reno Justice Court.

Justin Kent Freund, 27, is being held on $100,000 bail, Washoe County jail records show.

Freund was booked on suspicion of two counts of vehicular manslaughter, two counts of felony driving under the influence and a felony count of attempting to leave the scene of an accident after the accident at about 10:24 p.m.

A Pontiac was disabled on the side of the road when a Ford F-350 merged from McCarran Boulevard and struck the car, coming over the top, Nevada Highway Patrol Lt. Kevin Honea said.

Matthew Sredy, 27, was allegedly a passenger in Freund’s vehicle who left the crash scene. Sredy was booked on suspicion of felony failure to stop at the scene of an accident and misdemeanor failure to render aid at an accident. Sredy was released from jail.
