RENO, NV (KOLO) 911 service for Verizon customers has been restored for Reno, Sparks, Washoe County and Lyon County customers.
Northern Nevada emergency agencies said the Verizon Wireless switcher in Stockton, California, lost the ability to relay calls to 911 from Verizon Wireless callers in the Reno/Sparks/Washoe County areas, so 911 service was not available for several hours Tuesday June 18, 2019 for Verizon customers in our area for police, fire and ambulance service.
Regular phone calls were not affected.
Verizon resolved the issue at approximately 10:00 p.m. Tuesday.
