SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) - A man has been cited after his vehicle was clipped by a train near Derby Dam late Wednesday night, October 11, 2017.
According to officials from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, a man parked his car near the train tracks east of Derby Dam just after 11 p.m. While the man was in his car, a Union Pacific train came by and clipped his vehicle.
Officials say he was the only person in the car at the time of the incident and he was not injured. The man was cited for having an open container and released to a responsible party.
There were no passengers on the train at the time of the incident and officials say the train was not damaged.
