RENO, NV (KOLO) - UPDATE: UNR has announced that due to inclement weather conditions, all University of Nevada, Reno commencement ceremonies –Thursday, Friday and Saturday – have been moved to Lawlor Events Center. ORIGINAL STORY: The University of Nevada, Reno will confer 3,201 degrees in its commencement ceremonies this week. That is a record for the University for a single semester.
The University commencement ceremonies will take place over three days. Thursday, May 16, the Reynolds School of Journalism, the College of Liberal Arts and the Orvis School of Nursing will hold their commencements.
The College of Business, Division of Health Sciences (Social Work), School of Medicine (Speech Pathology), College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources, School of Community Health Sciences and College of Education will hold their commencement ceremonies Friday, May 17.
Commencement ceremonies will wrap up Saturday, May 18 with the College of Engineering and College of Science.
This year's ceremonies include the awarding of 2,587 bachelor degrees, 551 advanced (master's and doctoral degrees), and 63 School of Medicine Degrees.
