DETROIT, Mich. (KOLO)-- The U.S. Marshals Service asks for the public’s help finding a woman for what it describes as the brutal murder of her boyfriend in Michigan.

The service said Tamera Renee Williams, 39, could be anywhere in the United States. Williams has worked in the medical field and as a travel agent.

David Carter, 39, was murdered in Melvindale, Mich., on Sept. 29 and on Dec. 20 a federal court issued an arrest warrant for Williams on charges of first degree murder, disinterring a dead body and evidence tampering, the service said in a statement.

Investigators believe she fled Michigan in mid October after she was identified as a person of interest in the case.

She is active with the Order of the Eastern Star.

The service said Williams should be considered armed and dangerous.
