UNR food pantry seeks donations

RENO, Nev. -- (KOLO) Your help is needed to keep the campus food pantry stocked. It’s called Pack Provisions. The pantry provides free food, hygiene items and school supplies.

As of October 2019, officials say almost 350 students received items from the pantry for this semester--and they're expecting close to 1500 students will need some of the free products by May 2020.There's a donation drive happening right now until the end of the year.

“Either physical donations and also financial donations. We have a goal of raising 22 thousand dollars because that would saturate our 22 percent of students that said they were food insecure. We've actually reached about fifty percent of that and we're just looking for any donations because we're able to buy those supplies for students and give them to them almost every day of the week,” Student Body Vice President Nicole Flangas explains.

Your donation helps guarantee hunger will not be a barrier to student's success in the classroom. You can drop off physical items on campus at the Joe Crowley Student Union or give financially using this link

Checks can be made payable to the UNR Foundation, include a note that the git is for Pack Provisions and mail to:
