RENO, Nev. (KOLO) The University of Nevada Reno is investigating after students and faculty discovered white supremacist fliers posted in several buildings on campus.
"Kinda makes me sick to my stomach that people would still try to bother doing childish things like that still it's not doing anything for you and you're just spreading hate around and that's not cool," Rigon Hanna, a freshman says.
The fliers were posted in at least five buildings. This comes after a swastika was found inside the new Wolf Pack Tower at Circus Circus.
"We immediately are contacting our hate and response team and are proceeding to document it.," Eloisa Gordon-Mora, Officer of Diversity and Inclusion, says.
Gordon-Mora says they are investigation but these cases are tricky.
"It's kind of difficult to know because of the mechanism of these white nationalist groups is to operate in secrecy and on the fringes and outside formal and respectful procedures," she says.
The university wants everyone to know it offers services to those who may need help..
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization condemned the flyers saying in a statement:
"We condemn this attempt to instill fear on a college campus, a place that is supposed to be a safe haven for students," CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper says. "Unfortunately, our nation is experiencing a growing white supremacist menace that must be challenged by Americans of all faiths and backgrounds."
