UNR Med holds free Clinics in March & April

People in Northern Nevada who are uninsured, underinsured, or without a social security number can receive free medical care this March and April at upcoming University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine

. UNR Med offers the free clinics to assist the region's medically uninsured with needed services.

The free clinics offer a variety of services, including flu shots, gynecological exams, blood pressure monitoring and general physicals. They also offer pediatric services such as head start physicals, sick visits and immunizations for children. Dental and optometric services are not provided.

Patients are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis and must sign in by 10:00 a.m. for Saturday clinics and 7:30 p.m. for Tuesday clinics. No appointments are necessary and Spanish translators are available at all clinics.

Clinics are held at UNR Med's Family Medicine Center, on the University of Nevada, Reno campus at 123 17th Street in Reno. The clinics allow UNR medical students to get hands-on experience while helping the community. Licensed faculty and clinical community physicians supervise the medical students and the care patients receive.

Women's Clinics:

Saturday, March 2: 8am - noon

Saturday, April 6: 8am - noon

General and Children's Clinics:

Tuesday, March 19: 6pm - 9pm

Saturday, March 30: 8am - noon

Saturday, April 20: 8am - noon

Tuesday, April 30: 6pm - 9pm
