Names released of two killed in head-on crash in Mono County
The California Highway Patrol has released the names of two people killed in a head-on crash on U.S. 395 in Mono County near Bodie.
It happened Wednesday, December 13, 2017 around 4:30 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol says a Sacramento man was driving a Dodge pickup northbound on U.S. 395 south of Highway 270. For unknown reasons, as he approached a right-hand curve, he crossed over the center line, hitting a Mazda head-on. The crash killed the Mazda driver, 67-year-old Peter Myers of Reno, and passenger, 47-year-old Lanfang Qin of Reno.
The pickup driver was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno with minor injuries.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
