CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada Highway Patrol says a driver has been arrested for a crash that killed a woman in Carson City.

Shortly before 9AM January 6, 2018, troopers responded to the crash on South Carson Street at the intersection with Koontz Lane.

The NHP says the investigation indicates 32-year-old Omar Adan Oronia-Camacho, the driver of a Ford F150 pickup, was headed north on South Carson Street approaching the intersection. He ran a red light, hitting the driver's side of a Buick Lesabre, whose driver was preparing to go across South Carson Street.

The driver and passenger of the Buick were taken by Care Flight to a hospital in Reno. The driver, 81-year-old Rosemary Frenzel Stroup of Carson City, died from her injuries. The passenger was treated and released.

Troopers say June 8, they arrested Oronia-Camacho at his home in Gardnerville on a felony bench warrant issued by Carson City Justice Court related to the crash. The charges, as troopers continue to investigate, are reckless driving, failure to obey a traffic control device, and driving without a valid license.
