SUN VALLEY, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the names of both men killed in a shooting in Sun Valley Sunday night.

38-year-old Benjamin Guerrero and 35-year-old Ruben Torres, both of Sun Valley, were killed August 19, 2018.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says about 10:20 that night, deputies responded to the area of Staci Way and Merritt Court on a report of shots heard. Deputies found the victims and evidence of shots having been fired.

Investigators believe the two men were involved in a confrontation outside a home, and exchanged shots. One man was declared dead at the scene; the other died after being taken to a hospital.

Two women at the scene were not hurt and are cooperating with the investigation, according to Harmon. No arrests have been made, and the Sheriff's Office says no one is being sought.

Spokesman Bob Harmon says this is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information that might help the investigation is asked to contact the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at (775) 328-3320 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
