GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) - White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and former U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke are among the coterie of Donald Trump allies descending on northern Nevada this weekend for a fundraiser hosted by ex-Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt.
Laxalt, who unsuccessfully ran for governor last year, hosts the annual Basque Fry fundraiser to benefit his political action committee, Morning in Nevada PAC.
This year's gathering at a ranch in Gardnerville is slated to kick off Saturday. In addition to Mulvaney, Lewandowski and Zinke, the event will feature former acting U.S. Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, American Conservative Union chair Matt Schlapp, Trump adviser Mercedes Schlap and conservative journalist John Fund.
Laxalt, the grandson of former Nevada governor and U.S. Sen. Paul Laxalt, comes from a family of Basque immigrants who settled in Nevada.
