Despite numerous signs posted around Galena Creek Regional Park, people have been illegally cutting down Christmas trees.

The park posted photos on Facebook showing at least one tree that had been cut down illegally.

In addition, park officials say the trees have been cut improperly.

Anyone with Christmas tree permits from the U.S. Forest Service are reminded to check the permit and map to make sure you are cutting in a legal area.

The park is also urging anyone who knows someone planning to cut down a tree in the area, to inform them that they must have a tree cutting permit
