RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is working with Reno and Sparks Police and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office on a burglary and check fraud investigation.

Detectives say there have been vehicle burglaries in Reno, Sparks and Washoe County, with checks, credit cards and identification stolen. Since May 2018, three women have cashed some of the stolen checks using the stolen identification at Carson City banks.

One of the vehicles used by the women is a dark Infiniti SUV. Another is a silver SUV. A Toyota Tacoma believed to have been used has been ruled out; Carson investigators say it appears the owner of that truck was at the bank at the same time one of the women was cashing a check and the bank corporate security provided the photos of the Tacoma, which we have removed from our story.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office at (775) 887-2677, Detective Sam Hatley at (775) 283-7852, Captain Brian Humphrey at (775) 283-7850 or Secret Witness (775) 322-4900.
