PHOENIX (KOLO) 2018 high school recruit KJ Hymes has verbally committed to play basketball at Nevada next season.

Hymes picked the Wolf Pack over offers from a number of major conference teams, including USC, Washington, Oklahoma, Arizona State, Cal, Missouri, Colorado, Georgia Tech and Virginia.

The 6-foot-10, 215 pound power forward is a three-star recruit from Hillcrest Prep Academy in Phoenix. ESPN ranks him as the third best recruit in the state of Arizona.

Hymes averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per game as a junior at Phoenix St. Mary's, before transferring to Hillcrest for his senior season.
