RENO, NV (KOLO)-- The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection has forwarded three names to Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak to fill the Washoe District Court judge position made available with David Humke’s resignation.

Whomever Sisolak selects must run for the seat in 2020 to retain it.
The nominees are Jennifer Helen Rains, 41, of the Washoe County Public Defender's Office, Tamatha R. Schreinert, 48, of Silverman Kattelman Springgate, Chtd. and Sandra A. Unsworth, 59, who has her own law firm.

Nine attorneys applied for the position.

Humke agreed in January to leave the court. He had been suspended several times since taking the bench in 2015. The Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline said Humke admitted he was no longer able to perform his job.
