Names released of three killed in Mono County head-on crash

WALKER, CA (KOLO) - The California Highway Patrol has released the names of three people killed in a crash Sunday.

About 3:30 p.m. June 30, 2019, CHP was called about a two-vehicle crash just north of the town of Walker. Officers say the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder traveling south on US 395 collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma headed north. Two people from the Tacoma were flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, where the driver died. Five people from the Nissan were also transported, and two of them were pronounced dead.

The Tacoma driver has been identified as 76-year-old Russell Roeben of South Lake Tahoe. The Nissan passengers have been identified as 41-year-old Marco Castillo of Downey, California and 81-year-old Enriqueta Rosales from Los Angeles.

The cause of the crash has not been determined. Anyone who may have information about it is asked to contact the CHP Bridgeport Area Office at (760) 932-7995.
