The South Lake Tahoe Police Department helped arrest a Mendocino County murder suspect on Friday afternoon on Conestoga Avenue in South Lake Tahoe.

The SLTPD special weapons and tactics team was activated to help Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrest Jesse Cole Wells, 32. Wells is charged with murder in Mendocino County and he was taken into custody at around 4:15 p.m.

The detectives served a search warrant at the Conestoga Avenue residence. Authorities arrested Wells without incident and he was booked into the El Dorado County Jail on $650,000 bail.

SLTPD said any details about the murder case would have to come from the Mendocino sheriff’s office and no one was immediately available to comment.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Wells is one of seven marijuana trimmers accused of beating to death Mendocino County commercial marijuana farmer Jeffrey Quinn Settler in November 2016.
