FERNLEY, Nev. (KOLO) -- The Fernley Public Works staff is helping with storm recovery efforts and cleanup along Farm District Road after about 18 power poles were knocked during Monday evening’s storm.

Residents with concerns of imminent danger or flooding are asked to call the Public Works Main Line at 775-784-9910.

Portions of Farm District Road remain closed as NV Energy continues with its work, and as NDOT continues cleanup measures along the road. The city is asking residents for their assistance and patience, and to be cautious and aware of utility crews, NDOT, and city staff working in the affected area.

For residents still without power, NV Energy is anticipating power to be restored by Wednesday morning.

Farm District Road is closed from Jasmine Lane to Red Rock Road; in addition, access roads are closed to Farm District. Currently Country Ranch Estates has no access in or out, and utility crews are
asking residents of this area to shelter in place.

Power poles are de-energized; however, crews are asking the public to avoid this area until further notice. NV Energy intends to sever the lines that are currently obstructing the road. Access to Autumn Winds subdivision can be reached via the Clearwater Bridge if necessary.

Crews are also still cleaning up from Monday's storms in East Mason Valley and Silver Springs.
