Sparks Police, Fire Departments getting new leaders

SPARKS, NV (KOLO) - The Sparks City Council has approved a replacement for Police Chief Brian Allen, who is retiring in June 2019.

Allen will be replaced by Pete Krall effective June 11.

Allen has been chief since 2013, and has been with the department 28 years. Krall is Deputy Chief and has been with the department 20 years. His experience includes stints with SWAT, K9, dispatch, patrol and the gang unit, as well as a mental health outreach team.

At the same time, the city is looking for a new fire chief to replace Chris Maples, who is also retiring in June.
