Sparks Marina hosts free fishing day for kids
will host the annual Kids’ Free Fishing Day at the Sparks Marina June 8 from 7:00 am to noon. The club will also host a Special Needs Kids Free Fishing Day June 6 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
For the past 17 years, the Rotary Club of Sparks has organized the planting of thousands of fish into the Sparks Marina and has invited local children to head out for a day of fishing fun. What makes this day extra special is that the Rotary Club of Sparks provides the first attendees with free fishing poles and supplies the bait and coaching needed to help them have an awesome day fishing at the Sparks Marina.
Attendees are not required to have a fishing license on this special day.
Water, shade, and some food are also provided to attendees, and there is ample space to get a line in the water and have some fun. In case the fish aren’t biting, the Rotary Club and a myriad of incredible sponsors have other activities planned to help attendees have an eventful day.
Fishing poles are only handed out to children. Parents are required to attend to properly register their children. Fishing in the netted area is for kids only. Friends and family are encouraged to go. It is free to attend, and fishing poles will be handed out until either everyone has a pole or they are gone.
