RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Gabby Williams is just one win shy from a perfect college career. A pair of national titles likely overshadow that lone loss.
The Sparks, Nevada, native won her second championship on Tuesday night in UConn's 82-51 win over Syracuse. The sophomore started for the Huskies, finishing with nine points, eight rebounds, three assists, one block and a steal.
Williams is 76-1 overall in her two seasons at Connecticut.
The Huskies have won 75 games in a row and four consecutive national titles. Senior forward Breanna Stewart was named the Final Four's Most Outsanding Player for the fourth year in a row; something that no other player has ever done before.
Williams averaged 8.8 points and 5.5 rebounds off the bench this season. Those numbers mirror her first season in Storrs, when she was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Freshman team and shared the Sixth Player of the Year award.
Williams led the AAC in field goal percentage (.633) as a freshman, averaging 8.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
She was a McDonald's All-American at Reed high school.
