South Lake Tahoe man arrested for girlfriend's death

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KOLO)-- A South Lake Tahoe man has been arrested for murder for the death of the girlfriend he lived with after he confessed to a family member he killed her, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department reported Wednesday.

Police learned Tuesday morning that Paul Allen Hollingsworth, 60, allegedly confessed to the family member about the death of the 70-year-old woman, whose name is being withheld until family is notified. Police went to the home in the 3600 block of Aspen Avenue and found the woman unconscious and not breathing, police said.

She was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe and then to Renown Regional Medical Center, where she died Wednesday morning, police said.

Police said Hollingsworth is cooperating.
