SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KOLO) - A dispute over a parking space led to a confrontation and a stabbing Friday morning, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department reports.

It happened at CVS at 3471 Lake Tahoe Blvd. about 10:30 a.m. July 12, 2018. Police say Paul Ivanovsky, 71, of Sparks parked in front of the CVS. Scott Nevin, 51, of San Jose parked nearby and confronted Ivanovsky about the parking spot, police say.

Ivanovsky sprayed Nevin with pepper spray and Nevin took it away from him and sprayed Ivanovsky with it, police say. Ivanovsky got out of the vehicle and Nevin hit him several times in the face and head. Ivanovsky pulled out a knife and stabbed Nevin once, then got into his car and waited for police.

Neither party was arrested and both are cooperating with police. Both were taken to Barton Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The case will be forwarded to the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office for review.

Police ask anyone with information to call 530-542-6100.
