RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- The smoke in the skies over the Truckee Meadows is being blown in from California, the National Weather Service reports.
The thickest smoke should blow out Saturday night. But it could return Sunday, depending on air flows.
Some of the smoke is from the Caples Fire in El Dorado County, a controlled burn that got away from fire crews.
Most of it is from smoke that collected in California’s Central Valley from different fires that is being pushed northeast into Nevada. That smoke is still expected to be there Sunday and it could get pushed into the Truckee Meadows again, the weather service said.
