Skier found dead at resort near South Lake Tahoe

TWIN BRIDGES, Calif. (KOLO)-- A skier was found unresponsive Dec. 26 at Sierra-At-Tahoe and later declared dead by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the ski resort reports.

The 53-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was found about 1:47 p.m. at the bottom of the West Bowl Express chairlift on the Powderhorn Trail, the resort says. It's not known how long he had been there.

Ski patrol responded and started cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and paramedics and the CalStar air ambulance were also called.

No information has been released about the cause of the man's death.

The resort, near Twin Bridges about 16 miles from South Lake Tahoe, says it has no other information to release, but expresses condolences to the family and friends of the man.
