RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - UPDATE: The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says everyone believed to have been involved in a possible road rage incident has been identified and found, and is cooperating with deputies. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed so far.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying and finding a person involved in a possible road rage incident Monday afternoon; at least one shot was fired into the ground.
About 12:45 p.m. February 4, 2019, deputies responded to the area of Pembroke Drive and Tamarisk Drive in Hidden Valley on the report of shots being heard. Deputies met with a person who said he had been involved in a road rage incident that led to the shots being fired.
The person told deputies the incident began on Veterans Parkway and involved him and another person, described as a white male driving a white pickup with a flat cover over the bed. Both drivers drove eastbound on Pembroke Drive before they reportedly stopped their vehicles and got into an argument.
The person told deputies at least one shot was fired into the ground at the Pembroke location by the driver of the white pickup.
The driver of the white pickup left the scene before deputies arrived. Deputies are trying to find him to get a full account of what happened.
Deputies would also like to talk to the occupants of a blue sedan who were in the area of Pembroke and Tamarisk Drives at the time the two vehicles stopped, and may have witnessed the incident.
No injuries have been reported.
