CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO)- Love is up in the air on Valentine's day every year. For some couples, love spans decades.
For 92-year-old Frank and 88-year-old Jane Logan, days consist of keeping busy at the The Lodge Assisted Living and Memory Care Community in Carson City.
They learn new activities, play chess, go for walks. They have been together 64 years and even after all this time they still remember the first time they met in San Diego.
"I was a nurse, and he was police officer," said Jane. "They would bring people into the emergency room. What I remember is that he offered me a stick of gum. I have been sold ever since!"
"I just went in one day and here was this wonderful gorgeous goddess in white," said Frank. "I thought I was having hallucinations."
Shortly after, Frank and Jane got married. Jane said they were very poor, but still very happy. They had four children together, two of whom preceded them in death.
"Those were the hard times," said Jane. "But anyone who has been married for a long time knows what a roller coaster it is. There are ups and downs."
Through it all, they hung on to each other.
"He makes me laugh and that is so important," said Jane.
They decided to retire in Carson City where their son lives; and are spending the rest of their days enjoying each other's company.
